ABSTRACT: 

This session provides an overview of the HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) Release 2 standard, its use, its function, and its importance to health information ecosystem. A guided tour of a CDA sample document will provide familiarity to attendees with the structure of the information and provides a strong visual map of the information contained in a CDA.

• Define the CDA standard the value it brings to healthcare
• Identify the relationship between CDA, HL7 v3, and HL7 v2.x
• Recognize the different uses of CDA, and relationship to IHE
